paul cole AWOL mattock after the the Sparrow Hill work session this morning

Alan & I would like to give a big thank you to the willing band of workers who gave up ride time to carry out trackwork this morning. Great result. Alan is missing a mattock after the work today - anybody take it home by mistake? Its marked with his name on the head end of the handle & the blade is battered & needs some love. But he would like to get it back if it accidently went home in the wrong car. Ring me on 0429 171 530 & I will arrange pick…

Steve K Involuntary riding hiatus

That's a fancy way of saying I can't ride for a while, like until April or so.  Stupid doctor's stupid $#%# orders. Trouble is, they're right...

Anyway, just letting you know I haven't suddenly gone all antisocial or whatever.  Capital Punishment, Willo Enduro, Mont, the CORC 3hr... all these things won't have me in them this year.  NEXT YEAAAAR!!

<Insert fake-happy smiley here....>

James Benson Calling all GT riders

Hello all

I have a 2009 GT Marathon Sport with the I Drive 4. I have just broken the flex bone and I'm having a hard time finding a store in Canberra that stocks them. I could get it online but I was hoping to take my bike down the coast for the first time this Friday and ride Mogo and it wouldn't arrive in time.

Does anyone know of a store that has them in stock, or just as good, does anyone have a spare one that they could sell me?

Thanks

James

Morgan Back Yamma and the case of the Third Buttock.

As my wife laughed down the phone at me on the way back to the camp site from Parkes hospital on Saturday night she slipped in the comment "It was all going too well; something had to go wrong"...................

I was looking good for a decent race at Back Yamma State Forest last weekend.  My training plan had gone well, my new Ventana build was running beautifully, I'd fixed up the camper trailer with new lights and the new camping hot water system we'd just bought worked.  I'd…

harry kewl cheap pedal and shoe prices

The bike shed in canberra have lowered theyre prices on pedals and shoes to try and compete with the ever increasing internet sites. Entry level road and mtn pedals are now as low as $60 and XTR pedals are now down to $199. These are not special prices, they are new everyday low prices. The crew at bikeshed hope customers will want to spend theyre money locally instead of it going out of the country, plus you get theyre expert advice.

Christopher Giuliano Toughest Enduros? Lies, Damned lies, and statistics.

After completing the James Williamson 75km and thinking that was tough, I then did the 100ker at Tathra, which rendered me dizzy, nauseated, and walking. So I wanted to figure out a way to compare enduros, and thought that the number of starters as a proportion of finishers could be a good indicator. I've completed three of the events below, and I think I agree with the positions of each.

DNS are not included. And though some other races have results up, some only show the times of…

Karl B aka Crasher Tathra Enduro

After being crook since Boxing Day, some of it self-inflicted, some not, I needed to get back into the swing of things. What better than a nice easy 50k enduro on the south coast at Tathra?

I found out about this enduro last year from a pamphlet in my show bag from the Three Ringed Circus & thought “I just have to do this!”

So it was on, I left buying a ticket until the last minute as it was only two weeks ago I started feeling human again. I was nervous…

Denise Collins Sri chinmoy Multi-sport in Jindabyne.....anyone done the long MTB leg?

I'm doing the 42.8km 3rd MTB leg of the Multi-sport event in a few weeks - link to leg description below.   I find myself spending a lot of time (as I ride uphill and uphill and uphill) wondering exactly why the author of the description thought I would most need to know how many vertical metres I would be descending....  I find myself able to tackle 100's of metres of vertical descents with a great deal of composure however a little more…
