New wheels (literally)

Started this discussion. Last reply by Milto Nov 6. 19 Replies

I need new wheels. Well, I just need a new rear to be honest - but I think my nascent OCD wouldn't allow an odd match.29", through axle front, 142x12 rear, to go on a carbon 100mm dually. What should…Continue

For sale: Giant Anthem X 29er

Super Shiny Silver Steve and the Scott 24hr

Posted on October 16, 2012 at 15:30 28 Comments

I don't really know how to start this, so I'll just start and see what happens... Will add more later, and photos.

1. Moving the Goalposts

Some time in the first half of the year, Nat raised the possibility of "maybe doing the Scott 24hr solo?". I grunted something along the lines of "awyeh?" or words to that effect, stuffed some more schnitzel in my gob, and didn't think much more of it other…

Involuntary riding hiatus

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 20:22 6 Comments

That's a fancy way of saying I can't ride for a while, like until April or so.  Stupid doctor's stupid $#%# orders. Trouble is, they're right...

Anyway, just letting you know I haven't suddenly gone all antisocial or whatever.  Capital Punishment, Willo Enduro, Mont, the CORC 3hr... all these things won't have me in them this year.  NEXT YEAAAAR!!

Hi Steve,

Saw your name on something given to me tonight and you are first on my list of thank yous. I was very appreciative of the warmth of good wishes I received tonight. It was as you might expect, totally out of the blue - not sure why I haven't made the effort to do the Wednesday night Edgars thing before, but tonight was a first of more to come I hope. Thank you for organising the troops in the way you did. I am most deeply appreciative and will write to others in similar vein.

Best wishes,

David

Steve & Andy,

it will be 4 laps of 12.5 km course - the original plan was for 2 laps of the 25 km loop but that meant opening & manning the 4 gates - pain in the bum- so I suggested to Bec that we run 12.5 km lap x 4  - no gates!
