"I have been running TWE (Stan's Arch) for going on 3 years and apart from cleaning the rear hub once a month ago I haven't touched them. They are the best wheels I have every had (I also have a set of Fulcrum Red Metals for the last year…"

Paul replied to blondie's discussion 'please agree with me...or offer advice!' in the group 29er club
"Blondie, I switch regularly between my SS 29'er hardtail (sub 10kg) and "The Tractor" a 9 speed 29'er dually, so here are my thoughts: HTFU.   The dually is heavier and walloier (I know there is no such…"

Paul replied to Brendan Carr's discussion 'Mont berm teams'
"Hey Blondie, you are a girl and yes by then you will be 20 (with 20 years experience) - get Morgan to sign you up, you can be on two teams (twice the socialising) and all you need to do is 1 lap with Morgan's mod for them to qualify as mixed?"

Paul replied to Brendan Carr's discussion 'Mont berm teams'
" A Berm flag would be a good idea - that way we Sydney riders could say hello as we pass during the race (he, he, he)."

Paul replied to Christopher Giuliano's discussion 'Fast woman needed for Scott 24hr'
"Morgan, - you sound like a rat trying to desert the sinking ship, also the "fast" they were referring to was on the bike and not referring to your morals. "

Tim Grosvenor replied to Paul's discussion 'Sparrow - Single Speed 29er Gearing'
"Sparrow is totally do-able on a 32x19. I currently run a 42x18 on my 26" single and have no issues with the "hills" out at Sparrow, it's pretty flat out there. Although I do push the same ratio up Stromlo so Sparrow feels like a…"

"I hope karma catches up with the Monkey thief - I have one myself (now a commuter). It's a good, honest and well behaved beast. It sounds like 19 on the back is the go - I'll make the changes and take it for a test ride."

Nick Evans replied to Paul's discussion 'Sparrow - Single Speed 29er Gearing'
"Hi Paul, I ran 32x19 on my Surly Karate Monkey (before it was stolen :'( ) on Sparrow Hill, and it flew. I highly recommend that ratio. I used 32x18 for a while before, but found that 32x19 gave me just that touch better acceleration."

Drew replied to Paul's discussion 'Sparrow - Single Speed 29er Gearing'
"Even when I was unfit last year and running a rigid Miyata SS from 1990 (complete with Canti's) Sparrow was do-able on 32-17. What ever will give you the ability to pass most easily on the climbs is what I'd suggest. You know how it is…"
