Re the lockout, I didn't have this problem - it was always pretty smooth, although I did once unbolt the cable and when I put it back in I didn't tighten it enough and that meant the trigger wouldn't click to lockuot. A few obvious things but does the trigger hit anything when you push it in (eg grips), is the cable tight enough, are there any kinks in the cable, are all the bolts tight on the trigger, um, can't think of anything else?
Yeah I got it serviced about 5 months ago so you should be good for another, well they say every 12 months, so you choose!
