So...got an old Scott Genius 30. To cut a long story short, I have much better bike now, but teh Genius had soe last minute upgrades prior to collecting dust under the house. Key pieces are Fox Talas 32 forks with the through axle thingy (had about two hours of riding); and XT Deore wheelset (2 hours of riding). The rest of the bike is adequate (X7); but the frame is scratched and prolly wont sell well. Even though its red! What to do? How much could I sell the parts for? What could/should I build with the parts? Are they more suited to a freeride bike (which would be fun)....if so what frame options? Or should they go to a carbon hardtail? I'm not much in the way of technical stuff........anyone got any good ideas? Or offers to buy the parts?!!

eBay the parts, frame and all
I reckon Kev's right - never done it myself but that's what seems to bring people the best result in this situation. Good forks near-new are worthwhile selling on their own, same with the wheels.
The rest you could sell in a job lot still on the frame. Personally that's what I'd do. Removing wheels and forks is very easy even I can do it :) Sounds like you should get as more just for those two items as if you tried to sell the whole lot together.

Would eBay the wheelset, the forks, and the rest possibly as a job lot or on RB.

How much would it cost to get the frame resprayed then sell it as a bike?

Mate of mine stripped his frame and got it powder coated for $50 in Queanbeyan, @ a car sprayer place, sorry I don't remember the name but can find out if needed.
