The Berm

Canberra's Mountain Biking community network

Silly question time - how come I can't get piccies to appear as the icon next to an event that I'm adding?

I've done it before, I swear... but now can't.  I can click on the red-circled bit below, but nothing happens?

This is on I.E. 9 btw.  Thanks for any help or slaps up-side the head! :)

Cheers Karen (have you had an operation we don't know about Morgo?) - I just installed Opera browser to see if it was IE9 but I get the same thing with Opera.  Wierd!

Enjoy the holiday!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat! My test user is stealing my Hawaiian shirts??
Hey Steve, just found this on my support site, which is probably causing the problem:

SUPPORTED BROWSERS

Ning supports the following browsers:
Firefox 2 or 3
Internet Explorer 7 or 8
Safari 3 or 4
Google Chrome
Although you're welcome to use Ning with a browser that is not in this list, some of the features on your Ning Network may not work correctly.

Also found this which might provide some help before converting to another browser:

TROUBLESHOOT BROWSER RELATED ISSUES

I can't click on objects/objects don't load

Typically this is caused by something in the browser or computer intefering with normal network interaction. It can also be caused by certain Javascripts added to the network.

Make sure your browser is supported (see above).
Try another browser - a robust browser like Firefox or Chrome is recommended.
Make sure Javascript is enabled in your browser.
Double check your security and ad blocking software - installed applications and browser add-ons (like Ghostery or Adblock Plus) can block Javascript, which is required for proper network functionality.
Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser.

Yes yes I know this should probably be in the FAQ's. OK call me Mr Non Computer Head. I'll put something up about the browser when I get back.

If none of those troubleshooting things work then it looks like the browser is the problem Steve. Go on, you know you want to Google!

Thanks Morgan yep that's spot on!  Google Chrome is all good.

I guess that might help someone else too - don't upgrade to the new version of Internet Explorer if you want all the buttons on the Berm to work :)
