I've been seeing a chiro for years after getting sciatica in 2001 and going for a 'check up' every couple of months.

Since my Back Yamma stack the swelling & numbness around my hip has been reducing to the extent I can now feel where the pain & damage is, not necessarily a good thing because the pain is pretty bad at times.  My pelvis has dislodged and my lumbar region is in all sorts of strife.  I know a doc will prescribe something to mask the pain but I know I need the cause treated, so turned to my chiro.

I managed to get an appointment this evening and I feel unreal.  Not cured by any means but the adjustments I got, bearing in mind some restrictions I still have due to the pain, gave me a 50% improvement in movement for 10 minutes of work.  And this particular chiro's knowledge of physiology and movement gave me a real positive lift as I can now see light at the end of the tunnel.

I know this all sounds a bit large and like some weird advert, but after my doc told me last week he doesn't believe in "chiropractors and their ilk", I'm pretty keen to recommend treatment by a good chiropractor as a valid and valuable part of healthcare.  And I don't even have Extras cover.

OK here's the plug - Eva McQueen at Hawker Chiropractic.  She's brilliant.

'Nuff said.

Yours in recovery, Morgan

A good Chiro is worth their weight in gold.

I was very sceptical until a sore neck after a stack at stromlo left me no choice.

After a few visits not only did my neck improve, but so did an ongoing medical condition.

I mensioned this to my chiro and he said that this wasn't unusual. Manipulating the spine corrects alignment which allows the nerves to do there job, a restricted nerve cant do its job, and its the nerves that tell the different bits in us what to do.

Get well Morgan

Cheers

yep, monthly chiro and weekly massage for me

no way! i went to one for a sore back and was shocked at the pain - for the second side! It hurt, I agree, maybe my tensing up may have contributed, but I never went back -  I swapped to an Osteo which was much better but even better than all of that, and I swear on all my bikes you just cant beat a Bowen treatment - you keep your clothes on, it doesnt hurt, you feel great when you go out, maximum is generally three visits and you never get the same pain again! Just total magic and my kind of treatment.

It takes me ages to get people to swap but once they do they are converted as well - and no, its not my job, nothing near it!

I'm with Blondie ... Osteo over Chiro anyday. I also recently tried accupuncture and while it may take a little longer to get results, will use this when there are "major" issues. overall I think it depends on the practitioner.

Plus One Osteo / Blondie , i have been going to a Chiro for ages but in the last few months switched to my new found best friend Lisa the Osteo . She puts me through pain but only because i dont stretch enough But geez it makes a difference
