Hi All,
Myself and a group fo work friends have decided to take the plunge and enter Capital Punishment this year. We have only been riding for a few months and are definately in the amateur / beginners category.
We have done a few 25k+ rides, and a few weeks ago did our first 50 (loop of Kowen and then Sparrow). We did the first attempt at 50km's in 5 hours, with a break at the 25km mark. Small stops as we rode at tops of hills etc to regroup.
WE have currently entered in teh 80-90% finishers group. Based on this info, are we going to be too slow ? too quick ( LOL ) ? or just right based on this? WE dont want to spend the entire time being overtaken, or attempting to overtake people on the single track.
We vary in fitness levels, but all complete the rides together at the rate of the slowest rider.
Thanks
-Aaron

I started in that wave for the 50km last year as I tried to take it easy. During the event though my competitive instincts took over and I overtook a fair few from the previous waves. Then there was some lineups in the single track in Majura. I don't think you need to worry too much about where you start as long as you are prepared to have a couple of stops when you get into Majura.
They may have changed the route this year to improve this also.
