Ride/Event Description

The Community CPS 50km Duo Classic is in it’s second year running and is a joint initiative of Bec Henderson and Canberra Off Road Cyclists. The 50km mountain bike pairs race will again be held at Kowen Forest, just outside of Canberra. The race will be held on the 19th of January 2013.

Riders enter in teams of 2 but this is not a relay style event like the common endurance events. It’s about you and your teammate working together and having a good time while riding some of the best single tracks that Canberra has to offer.

Each pair must start and finish the race together. The course will be a 25km loop of single track and fire road in which each pair will complete two laps. This will ensure riders have the chance to discover, learn and enjoy the course while having the opportunity to pass through the start/finish area to pick up water and nutrition supplies for the second half of the race. The finishing time of the pair will be recorded as the second rider crosses the finish line.

For riders who are not confident in completing the 50km race there will also be a Novice and Under 17 category. These pairs will do just one lap of the 25km loop.
REGISTER ONLINE BY 15TH JANUARY TO GO INTO THE DRAW TO WIN A TREK SUPERFLY 100 AL ELITE.

Great ride today, not really a race, just a whole lotta fun. Thanks to Pete for an entertaining ride with lots of hollering! Thanks to Mel, Chad, Rob and John for the encouragement at the checkpoints it was a good lift for me.

Can't wait to ride again tomorrow

I hear ya!  Just had a huge bowl of pasta and now ready to put my feet up.  Only to get up in the morning and get back on the bike.  Did I mention I love my bike and also Dutch Finish ;-)

Kinda feel like i am stuck in the big ring on a fire trail pinch climb, everything is a struggle this afternoon. Wont take much to get to sleep tonight.

What an amazing ride, had lots of fun riding with andy. The pace we set was just perfect. The day was finished off with the dream that I had last night. I dreamed that I was going to win some thing. My dream came true it wasn't the trek bike but a cycle trainer. Well I guess dreams do come true for some of us. Have a fab day see you in the morning. :)
