On the Rivet 3hr Series 2013 – Race 1

Online registration is now open for the first round of the On the Rivet 3hr Series for 2013 at Stromlo Forest Park.

 

It’s on from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday 2 March, so this is a twilight event (which means you’re going to need to bring a set of lights). On the day rego opens at 5:00pm, get in early to avoid the last minute panic.

Just a reminder for those riding in pairs, the 40% rule applies - so if you complete 4 laps, you each do 2 laps, if you complete 7 laps, one does 4 and the other 3 laps....and so on, so each of you complete 40% or more of the riding.......this makes it fair for everyone.....nothing worse than a poor XC Coordinator having his head bitten off by a disgruntled pair of MTBers ;-)

Brett the glasses were intact, just grazing on the lenses.
There were a number of side wall tears around the bridge - timing tent speculation is we don't have a clue what caused so many in one spot.

I had a poor showing but heaps of fun. Real nice vibe from everyone - particularly when I was trying to fix my bike on the side of the track.

Jaimie - The guy who had a nasty incident around that area, had his glasses shattered. Could shards have caused punctures?  dunno just wild guess.

Did anyone else from here get a flat just as you come out of the container bridge? I'm curious if anyone knows what it was that was causing so many punctures!

Big thanks to Nigel, Kris and the other Vollies, it was a great night of racing and I had a blast despite getting a flat that robbed me of a 6th lap :-)
